Frequently Asked Questions

Will compression affect my image quality?

Our compression algorithm is designed to reduce file size while maintaining visual quality as much as possible. The degree of quality loss depends on the compression level you choose. At higher quality settings (70-100%), the difference is usually barely noticeable to the human eye. At lower quality settings, you might see some compression artifacts, but the file size reduction will be more significant.

Which format should I choose - JPG or PNG?

JPG is generally better for photographs and images with many colors and gradients. It provides excellent compression for these types of images. PNG is better for graphics, logos, illustrations, and any image that requires transparency or crisp text. PNG compression works best for images with solid colors and sharp edges. If you're unsure, JPG is usually a good default for most use cases where transparency isn't needed.

What does "Remove Metadata" mean?

Digital images often contain hidden metadata (EXIF data) including the camera model used, camera settings, date and time the photo was taken, and sometimes even GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken. Removing metadata helps protect your privacy and further reduces file size. This option is enabled by default for both privacy and optimization reasons.

How secure is my uploaded image?

We take your privacy seriously. Your images are processed securely on our servers and are automatically deleted after compression is complete. We don't store or access your images beyond the time needed for processing, and all data transmission is encrypted using secure HTTPS connections. We never share your images with third parties.
